Meet the team
John Russell

John entered the Electrical Industry as an apprentice in 1975 in Wellington. He has worked in various electrical fields with a wide experience ranging from residential repairs and alterations through to major construction sites. This culminated in becoming the manager of a staff of 24 for a large Wellington electrical company. In 1996, moved to Auckland with his family and established JRES. As owner and director of JRES, John has steadily built up a company with a reputation for a reliable and quality service.

John is a keen family man, married to Lorraine and a father of 3 sons. John’s interests include fishing, golf, snowboarding and has coached rugby for over 25 yrs. John is an active member of the Auckland Land Search & Rescue team. 

Lorraine Russell

Lorraine is co-owner & director of JRES. She is actively involved in the day to day running of JRES including staff management and administration. Lorraine has had many years of office experience in business systems, policies and procedures in various industries. She recently completed a Certificate of Business at Massey University to further her business skills. Lorraine’s interests include; family, friends, golf, skiing, and travel.



Luke Iles 

Luke has been an employee of JRES since 1999. He started as an electrical apprentice and now as a registered electrician, Luke manages projects from conception to completion with much pride and quality workmanship.

Luke and his wife Sarah have recently become proud parents of a beautiful boy. Luke’s interests include fishing, kite surfing, snow boarding and automobiles. 

Gabriel Forrester 

Gabriel is a regular and loyal sub-contractor for JRES, who completed his apprenticeship under John in Wellington in the 1990’s. Gabriel has been working with and for JRES since 2004. Gabriel has worked and managed many projects for JRES including a 3 storey office fit-outwith a staff of 7 electricians and apprentices. Gabriel has a vast experience in all facets of the electrical industry.


Joshua (Josh) Hack 

After part time labour work for JRES and completing study in Applied Electrical Engineering at Unitech, Josh was offered a full time apprenticeship. Josh is in his second year of his electrical apprenticeship. His passion for the electrical industry and willingness to learn is very obvious. Josh’s interests include; rugby, gym, music, playing the guitar, family & friends.
